In the Garden

A kiss of the sun for pardon
a song of the birds for mirth
One is nearer God's heart in a Garden
than anywhere else on earth.

"Give Fools their gold, and knaves their power
Let fortunes bubbles rise and fall
who sows a field or trains a flower
or planta a tree is more than all." by John Greenleaf Whittier

I so love the look of a garden in full bloom, in the spring, and in the summer. The early crocuses and daffodils that announce the coming of spring, and the beauty of roses that brighten the hottest days of summer. Nothing is more satisfying than planting something and seeing it bloom.

Colorful flowers not only add beauty to the garden and surroundings, but they attract a variety of birds, and the songs of the birds, the variety of their species and colors. is truly a spectacle of Nature, one more example of God's artistic handiwork.

Plant a garden for yourself then sit by your window and watch the beauty of nature. The colors of the changing seasons, the melodies of the songbirds, and the beauty of the day, will bring you a new sense of peace and contentment. Try it!

A vegetable garden is not only a fun thing to plant and watch grow, but if you plant well, and with a plan in mind, you can actually feed yourself for the winter months when you wish that you had some frozen peppers, or zucchini. There are a lot of vegetables that can be canned and frozen and nothing tastes better than vegetables that you planted and grew yourself!.
